Small Scale Enhancements
Subsidiary to the main LEADER Programme is the Small Scale Enhancements (SSE) Scheme. The aim of the project is to co-ordinate and deliver small scale community projects which have been highlighted by members of the community. Support is available for projects up to a total cost of £5,000 and so far is available for communities within the North York Moors National Park and Ryedale (Howardian Hills AONB and north of the River Derwent). Project proposals in excess of £5,000 should contact the LEADER programme. The scheme focuses on rural development projects under the following two LEADER programme themes;
→ Village renewal and development - aimed at projects that enhance the local village environment, strengthen and generate community cohesion or encourage community activities and village events.
→ Conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage – aimed at increasing the understanding of our working landscape and helping to protect traditional skills by raising awareness through interpretation, appreciation and maintenance of local heritage and cultural features.
What can the Small Scale Enhancements Scheme do for your community?
The main purpose of the SSE Scheme is to benefit rural communities with projects and ideas which are generated from the heart of your community. Therefore if your community, Parish Council or local interest group have any small scale village or environmental plans, or plans relating to heritage features then the SSE Scheme may provide a fantastic opportunity to implement your ideas.
How can I get support?
If you have a project, or even just an idea, you are encouraged to contact the appropriate Scheme Co-ordinator who will request a Project Idea Form to be submitted and is available to help you through the process. To find out mroe about each scheme please follow the links below.
