How To Make An Application

The application process for the North York Moors, Coast and Hills LEADER Programme is outlined below.  Any questions or queries relating to the programme, the application process or your project can be answered by programme staff by using the contact details below.

  • Speak to programme staff to discuss your project idea by calling 01439 770657 or by emailing the LEADER Programme
  • If you are making an application on behalf of a village hall or community building please also see the Village Hall Applications page.
  • Complete and return a Project Idea Form.  The Project Idea Form provides a brief outline of your project, its aims and objectives, costs and funding required.  Programme staff are then able to assess applications to ensure they fit with the themes and priorities of the programme.
  • A Project Idea Form can be downloaded and completed electronically before being emailed back.  Completed Project Idea Forms need to be returned to leader@northyorkmoors-npa.gov.uk.
  • Applicants are contacted with a decision within 2-3 weeks.  Eligible projects are then able to progress to stage 2 of the application process and a full application is issued.
  • Advice and guidance from programme staff will be available for all applicants completing a second stage full application form.
  • Completed application forms with all relevant supplimentary documents need to be sent to North Yorkshire County Council for appraisal.
  • The appraised project is then sent to the Executive Group who will make the final decision.
  • Finally Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency, will undertake a 'light touch appraisal' before the applicant is notified of the outcome.

NB: Deadlines for the submission of full applications for 2009/10 are 6th July 2010, 1st September 2010 and 27th October 2010.
