North York Moors, Coast and Hills LEADER Programme
Farmers at Danby Show await the sheep judging

How to get involved

You can get involved with the North York Moors Coast and Hills LEADER Programme in two ways:

  • by becoming a member of the Local Action Group
  • by taking part in a local community project

Members of the group recieve invitations to events, training, seminars and workshops that give a good understanding of LEADER, our local priorities and the bigger issues around improving quality of life in rural areas.  Members receive a monthly e-bulletin which gives an update on the programme and shares useful information and project ideas.  Information can also be sent via post if required.  In order to become a member of the LAG please complete and return to us the Local Action Group Registration Form which can be downloaded by following the link below.

As a member you will be expected to participate fully in the group and try to attend its meetings / events whenever possible. You will be expected to comment on a range of issues including the delegation of decision making powers to the Executive Group, strategic priorities of the programme etc. You can only have your say or vote on a particular issue if you attend a LAG meeting.  Information Sheet 1 below gives a more detailed summary of the role played by LAG members and the sorts of frequently asked questions that arise.

To get involved with projects in your local community check your Parish, village or community noticeboard or newsletter to see what clubs, activities and events are happening close to where you live. As we fund more and more projects accross the LEADER area we will include their details in our Projects section, enabling you to become more involved in and benefit from LEADER.
