Rural...Past, Present and Future: Heritage Conference
Duncombe Park was the venue for the Rural...Past, Present and Future heritage conference delivered by English Heritage, the North York Moors National Park Authority and the LEADER programme. The event was designed for all those with an interest in local community heritage and combined a programme of formal presentations, practical activities and group sessions. Over the two days delegates also had the opportunity to discuss projects they were involved in, and provide one another with useful tips.

Speakers at the event included Fred Taggart from the Princes Regeneration Trust, Alison Drake from Castleford Heritage Group, Mike Benson from Ryedale Folk Museum and Nicholas Andrews from the Tim Bobbin Festival.

Feedback from those who attended included:
"The quality of the speakers, the infectious enthusiasm of those engaged in local projects, the evidence of how a tiny initial spark can explode into a remarkable development..."
“Lots of information, ideas and inspiration from a very rewarding day"
