To protect the remains of the existing Sirocco Fan, part of the mines ventilation system; and bring into use an underused space for a programme of activities, exhibitions and lectures.

Mulgrave Community Research Project
Mulgrave Ward, North Yorkshire

To undertake a range of local history research projects involving the local community and schools such as the search for Seton Church and the history of Hinderwell High Street to encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of local history and the landscape, within the seven parishes of the Mulgrave Ward.

Esk Pearl Mussel and Salmon Recovery Project
Esk Valley, North Yorkshire
The project implements practical conservation measures to improve the habitat of the Esk for the Esk Pearl Mussel and Atlantic Salmon. River restoration work will take place alongside training sessions for local farmers, land managers and wildlife groups.

Small Scale Enhancements Project
North York Moors National Park

Delivered by the North York Moors National Park Authority, the project will provide technical assistance for the implementation of small scale projects within villages in the North York Moors National Park Area such as enhancements to the village environment, community activities and events and interpretation, appreciation and maintenance of local heritage and culture.

Yorkshire Moors Agricultural Apprentice Scheme
Wider LEADER Area

Provides an opportunity for young people to undertake an apprenticeship on upland farms gaining experience and an NVQ level 2 in livestock production. Skill development will include shepherding moorland hill sheep, drystone walling, heather burning and understanding of moorland systems, and understanding of environmental schemes.

Cornfield Flowers – Out Of Intensive Care

Ryedale, North Yorkshire

Rural:Urban Schools Twinning Project
Howardian Hills AONB
The project will twin primary schools in the AONB with schools in the urban areas of York and Hull to learn about the contrasting local heritage of the two areas including the natural environment, historic environment, the landscape and the communities / ways of life.

East Cleveland Small Scale Enhancements Scheme
East Cleveland
To co-ordinate and deliver small scale projects which will contribute to the delivery of basic services for the economy and rural population, the development and renewal of the village environment and the conservation and enhancement of rural heritage and culture throughout the East Cleveland LEADER area. This project will include building the capacity of village residents to develop and deliver local, small scale projects.

Community Library and Archive
Ryedale Folk Museum, North Yorkshire

Creation of a community rural heritage library and archive for public use, open 350 days a year. The project will raise public awareness - locally, regionally and nationally - of the new facility and its rural heritage resources, providing access for local group visits, talks and master-classes. It will store material from local history groups, providing training and remote online access and promote the community library and archive as a gateway to other organisations and external support networks.
