The Local Action Group (LAG) is a group of individuals who broadly represent the interests of the North York Moors, Coast and Hills LEADER area, its communities and businesses. The group helps to set policy and provide strategic steer to the LEADER Programme through involvement in the consultation process, requests for feedback and at regular LAG events.

It is LAG members to who vote to appoint the elected positions on the Executive Group through an open nomination and election process.  The LAGs responsibility for decision making within the Programme is then delegated to the Executive Group.

Support is provided by the North York Moors National Park Authority (as the Lead Partner) and North Yorkshire County Council (as the Accountable Body), and coordination of the LAG is undertaken by the LEADER Programme Manager.
