Lythe Village Hall
Lythe, North Yorkshire
Renovation of the village hall building in order to provide additional services for the community including the provision of a weekly drop-in centre, a lunch club and a range of activities for the whole community. The facility will then also host a regular local produce and craft fair, a photographic exhibition and will take on a series of projects such as a history research project and the mapping of circular walks in the area.

Esk Pearl Mussel and Salmon Recovery Project
Esk Valley, North Yorkshire

The project implements practical conservation measures to improve the habitat of the Esk for the Esk Pearl Mussel and Atlantic Salmon. River restoration work will take place alongside training sessions for local farmers, land managers and wildlife groups.

Small Scale Enhancements Project
North York Moors National Park
Delivered by the North York Moors National Park Authority, the project will provide technical assistance for the implementation of small scale projects within villages in the North York Moors National Park Area such as enhancements to the village environment, community activities and events and interpretation, appreciation and maintenance of local heritage and culture.

Sustainable Community Halls
Wider LEADER Area
Additional support for community buildings to encourage them to become more sustainable and offer a wider range of services. Guidance will be offered on business planning, governance, relevant legislation etc via workshops, mentoring and one-to-one support.

Yorkshire Moors Agricultural Apprentice Scheme
Wider LEADER Area

Provides an opportunity for young people to undertake an apprenticeship on upland farms gaining experience and an NVQ level 2 in livestock production. Skill development will include shepherding moorland hill sheep, drystone walling, heather burning and understanding of moorland systems, and understanding of environmental schemes.

Linden Close Wildlife Area

To restore and maintain a currently derelict area to improve the biodiversity of the area. Work will include the establishment of a wildflower area, creation of an outdoor classroom facility, restoration of the pond, hedgerows and bridge, a pond dipping platform and the installation of bird and bat boxes.

To provide a year long programme of events and activities at the Community Arts Centre, Saltburn to reflect the 100 year history of the building.

‘Get it ON’ In Your Village
Whole LEADER Area

The ‘On Tour Scheme’ to bring the arts to rural communities will be extended into East Cleveland and additional programme of support, being provided through training, one to one support networks and improved web based facilities, will be developed to attract and re-engage villages in North Yorkshire.

Cornfield Flowers – Out Of Intensive Care

This final phase of the project will work with the wider local community to adopt a rare species of cornfield flower in order to maximise the seed resource for onward translocation to recipient farmers, and deposit in the Millennium Seed Bank.
